Camps Bay Cape Town Rovos Zambia Safari Livingstone Chobe River To the bottom
Ingrid buying some snacks in the lounge of Livingstone Airport, Victoria Falls before take off to
Lusaka International Airport where we had to wait for further flight with
Proflight, which is a very pleasant company to fly with, to our final destination
which was Mfuwe Airport
where we were picked up by our guide and scout from Norrman Carr Safaris
who drove us on a road called D104, I think...
where the supply of "whatever" still is operated by foot
do not ask me the name of the bridge!
nor the name of the village we passed
Ignored by Mr Baboo sitting at the roadside just
outside the gate of the South Luangwa National Park
Crossing the Luangwa River
Arrival at Norrman Carr's lodge - careful with the steps!
crossing the river to our lodge!
Matthew the scout watching out for
hungry crocodiles!.
A refreshing view after a long journey
and finally some privacy
or not?
Early next morning we started our game watch with observing ants on their warpath
The saddle-billed stork makes me confused - is this a female or male? It has all the signs of being both!
Hello my name is Warthog, what is yours?!
Hello! here I come!
Waterbuck, the inventor of the toilet seat... (old traditional african story)
Male dragonfly always looking for fresh water and
females
a tiny mangrove Kingfisher - does it catch big fishes?
Kigelia our Sausage Tree - whatch out for falling fruits
The beautiful African Fish Eagle is the national bird of Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Sudan
Although the Southern Ground Hornbill is big and has a loud voice it is listed as endangered
We met some Thornicroft's giraffes. I wonder if they know what we call them? but anyhow...
They liked to be photograped!
a big abandoned sparrow weavers nest - accordingly to our guide Lawrence weight about 50 kg
Pel's Fishing Owl did not want to look at us!
The hairstyle of the Grey Crowned Crane reminds me of something...
I am in the middle of it!
Do not cross the road before green light
and Mummy is watching
Hans, Erzsebeth, Ingrid, Matthew and Lawrence
and of course myself enjoying the sun setting down
with a glas of whatever you wish served by Lawrence
a last look over Luangwa River watching the hippos doing whatever they were doing.
After supper it was time for some nightly game drive
and we were lucky to come on the same track with a pack of lions on their way to hunt
as well as this crocodile
finally the day was over and this little fellow waited for us in our bathroom - Good night!
EARLY next morning up - away - and out into the nature! Hello Matthew says the elephant
and we could come very close
I got a bit nevous and hided behind this twisted small trees
which bear these black flowers and for the bees to find them the leaves have to turn white
although it was not season for flowers I found this one with a golden insect
as well as this leopard orchid plant!
A pond full with happy hippos!
The ritualized posture "huge open-mouthed yawn" reveals the hippos big ivory tusks
My name is Jesus because I can almost walk on water!
The end!
Back in the Camp enjoying old photos of Norrman Carr togehter with a dry Martini
Next day on tour again, starting with this beautiful scenery of birds enjoying the water from the river
together with this little fellow
Birds are not on his menue
so cute
and striped
and big
Happy hippo walking
a boatsafari started off very pleasant in the sunshine
we spotted some huge crocodiles
and the lions had an eye on us
suddenly the weather changed from sunshine to torrential in a minute and then back to sunshine again...
we encountered a happy local fisherman
who risks his life daily by fishing in the river full with crocodiles and hippos from these handmade canoes
On our way to the airport, our time at Chinzombo was unfortunately over
the carmine bee eaters were waiting for us to leave
counting our luggage
Until next time ! Matthew, Hans and Lawrence
You see the legs to the left!?!
and then we went off to Livingstone for Elephant riding and helicopter tour over VF!
